Day Spa Etiquette |
|
Here are some day spa etiquette tips to help make your visit more enjoyable.
Turn off your cell phone and/or pager. The spa experience is supposed to a peaceful and serene experience.
Arrive about 15 minutes earlier than your appointment time so that you can change, relax and enjoy the spa lounge. • A hot shower prior to your treatment can make your spa experience more enjoyable.
Do not bring children, if possible. The spa is a sanctuary for rest and relaxation. Make arrangements for a babysitter so that you can truly get 100% out of the experience.
Massages are usually done nude, so undress completely. Your therapist will drape a sheet over you exposing only areas that are being massaged. Full body scrubs, body wraps and hydrotherapy treatments are exceptions.
You can talk during the treatment or not. The therapist will comply with your wishes.
A 10% to 15% gratuity is the norm for good service or about $10.00 or $15.00 for a full hour treatment.
End the end of the massage, your therapist will say "Take your time getting up". You will want to take about 3 – 5 minutes to relax. Do not take a nap.
